CeraVe creams: non sponsored review

This article is not sponsored, we are going to talk about 3 products of the brand CeraVe and present a complete and exempt review of them.

1 – The CeraVe brand:

The CeraVe brand was created in 2005 in the USA and was bought by the L ‘Oréal Group in 2017. It has skin products of different types, being sold a little all over the world, especially in the US and Europe.

According to the brand, its products are not tested on animals, and are also exempt from allergenic ingredients and counting on MVE technology. The latter was patented by the brand, claiming that it allows a slow release of the ingredients of the creams throughout the day, making them more effective.

The products of this brand have no fragrance and claim not to be comedogenic, that is, they do not clog pores. In addition, in the US, they are recommended by the National Eczema Association.

2 – Products analyzed:

  • Moisturizing cream for the body dry to very dry skin (19.50 €, 500 ml);

In its composition, stand out ceramides and hyaluronic acid. Ceramides constitute 50% of the lipids of the skin barrier, which allows the skin to retain hydration and stay healthy. With the aging, the ceramides diminish, being therefore important to use a cream that replaces them. As for hyaluronic acid, it is an excellent moisturizer, capturing water to the skin – this makes this cream preferably to be applied after the shower, with the skin still wet / moist.

It should be noted that in the composition of this product we have petrolatum, obtained by dewaxing paraffinic residual oil, also known as vaseline. Although it is obtained through a series of purifications and has healing and moisturizing properties, it is an oil derivative and is therefore controversial in some communities. However, there are no scientific studies certified that show any harm in the use of this ingredient, and is therefore legal throughout the world, including in the European Union.

  • Moisturizing facial lotion normal to dry skin (12.45 €, 52 ml);

In addition to ceramides and hyaluronic acid, this product has niacinamide. Niacinamide is vitamin B3 soluble, very important in various functions of the human body. On the skin, it has proven great results against acne, hyperpigmentation, eczema, excess oiliness and rosacea.

  • Repairing cream for eyes (12.70 €, 14 ml).

Also in this product are hyaluronic acid and ceramides, as well as emollient oils of vegetable origin and occlusive waxes to seal the skin hydration.

3 – General opinion:

They are products with an excellent relation quality / price, attending to the ingredients of the composition and the results obtained with about 3 months of regular use. The textures are easily absorbed, the skin is effectively moisturized and luminous, and there were no allergenic or even irritating reactions. Obviously, if you have any specific allergies, you should ask the pharmacist – these products are for sale in pharmacies, without a prescription, or online.

The brand has several other products, including a moisturizing lotion with SPF 25 included for those who want to save time in the morning routine. We leave the link the same for anyone who wants to explore.

In summary, we recommend it!
